Communications networks use energy, and we take our share of responsibility for that. 9Eons Limited aims to run an efficient business with as small an environmental footprint as practical, and to keep improving it.
Our approach
- Efficient infrastructure: we run our platforms on shared, virtualised cloud infrastructure rather than dedicated hardware, so capacity is used efficiently and scales with demand.
- Software we build ourselves: because we design and develop most of our core network elements, we can keep them lean and avoid running hardware we do not need.
- Paperless by default: our customers receive online accounts, bills and records, and we keep paper use to a minimum.
- Travel: we meet online wherever we can, and plan conference travel to make each trip count.
- Equipment: we use equipment for as long as it is effective, and reuse or responsibly recycle it at the end of its life.
